In recent days, we have noticed an increase in the number of fraudulent SMS messages in which the senders present themselves as various institutions (e.g. banks, police or other official institutions).
Such messages usually:
- mention alleged fines, account changes or other urgent matters,
- contain threats or calls for urgent action,
- include links to fake websites or ask you to enter data.
- This is a phishing attempt, with which fraudsters want to obtain your personal or banking information.
What to do?
- Do not reply to such messages.
- Do not click on the links in the message.
- Do not enter personal or banking information on the links.
- Delete the message and block the sender.
- If you have already entered the data or confirmed the transaction, immediately contact your administrator or the Contact Center at +386 80 13 18.
If you are not sure whether a message is authentic, always verify the information exclusively through official channels (e.g. the official website or the bank's Contact Center).
