Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Slovenia, part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division (IBD), has appointed Mojca Kovač as its new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. She succeeds Luigi Fuzio, who has concluded his three-year mandate as CEO and will take on an important role within the Group.
“Under Luigi Fuzio’s leadership, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank has delivered strong growth and consolidated its position as the third-largest bank in Slovenia”, said Paola Papanicolaou, Chief of Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division, as she announced the leadership transition.
“The Group was keen to identify a successor from within the Bank, recognising the strength of its internal leadership. I am confident that Mojca Kovač, with her deep knowledge of the Slovenian market, will bring her experience and expertise to further enhance the performance of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Slovenia in the coming years”, added Papanicolaou.
Mojca Kovač brings extensive international banking experience, having held senior leadership positions across several European markets and most recently serving as a Member of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Slovenia, with responsibility for the retail and small business segment. Kovač joined Intesa Sanpaolo in 2022. Her leadership journey reflects a strong commitment to efficiency, innovation, and growth across diverse banking environments.
Kovač becomes the first woman to be appointed CEO within Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division, an important milestone that reflects the Group’s strong commitment to gender diversity.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Slovenia has also appointed Petar Vujović as Deputy CEO, and he will continue to serve as a Member of the Management Board.
