Contactless payments with Apple Pay

Apple Wallet app can be used on mobile phones using iOS 8.1 or later. The mentioned version runs on the following devices: iPhone 6, iPad mini 3, iPad Pro, Apple Watch 1, and all later models of phones, tablets, and watches. Via Apple Watch, you can also use Apple Wallet on iPhone 5 and 5c.

To perform a payment with Apple Wallet, follow the following steps:

• For as long as the watch is on your wrist, additional transactions do not require further authorization. Simply follow the instructions stated under the first indent.
• Once you remove the watch from your wrist, you need to unlock the screen of the watch by using the set password before making another payment with Apple Wallet.

Yes, paying with Apple Wallet is completely safe, as data of the virtual payment card cannot be linked to the actual data of the payment card. Data on physical payment cards are not transferred during the payment transactions, which prevents potential fraud or abuse.

Safety and privacy are the main focusses of the Apple Pay service. When using your credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the card number is not saved on the device or the servers of Apple. Instead, the system assigns the device a unique number (Device Account Number), which is coded and safely stored in an electronic chip on your device.
